Xan Hawes

Xan joined Montgomery Sisam in 2021 with more than six years of professional experience along with a diverse portfolio of projects. His previous work includes educational buildings, multi-unit residential buildings, community hubs, single-family housing, supportive housing, child-care centres, and Indigenous-focused design, in which he contributed to all project phases of development from design through to construction.
Xan is passionate about socially sustainable architecture, with an interest in projects that enrich society and improve the lives of their day-to-day users. His design approach is focused on enhancing the public realm, fostering a sense of community, and raising quality of life, with a close attention to detail to achieve a pleasing aesthetic.
At Montgomery Sisam, Xan has been an integral team member for the Golden Manor Home for the Aged in Timmins and is currently working on the Extendicare Nottingham Long-Term Care Home in Sudbury. His focus has been on the production of contract documents, coordinating with consultants and producing technical details for the drawing sets.
Xan is a registered architect with the OAA. He is also an accomplished sculptor, installation artist, and performer whose work has been exhibited and staged across Canada.
