Principal, Ed Applebaum presenting at CCHF Webinar on the Butterfly Model of Dementia Care

Principal Ed Applebaum will be speaking at the Canadian Centre for Healthcare Facilities’ (CCHF) live webinar on Deconstructing the Innovative Butterfly Model of Dementia Care, an approach to dementia care that highlights patients’ emotional needs. While those living with dementia face the deterioration of their judgement and capacity for self-care, their desire for human connection remains intact, and becomes a major component of their wellbeing and longevity. The webinar will focus on the successful implementation of the Butterfly Model in long-term care facilities in the Region of Peel, and Ed will be speaking about his extensive expertise on emerging care trends, as well as his work on the Peel Manor Senior’s Health and Wellness Village, a project that will be the first purpose-built long-term care home in Ontario inspired by the Butterfly Model.

CCHF is a not-for-profit organization that advocates for patient-centered, economical healthcare environments through coordinating high-level discussions with a range of stakeholders, and promoting the latest research and evidence-based design methodologies.
