Danny Shaddick

M.Arch.

Associate

Danny is a skilled designer and seasoned project manager. He first joined Montgomery Sisam as a student in 2003. He returned in 2016 with extensive experience in municipal approvals and permitting processes and an impressive body of work designing large scale multi-unit residential and mixed-use building. Danny was named an Associate in 2021.

Danny takes a considered, collaborative approach to his design practice. In his tenure at Montgomery Sisam, he has played an integral role on many notable seniors housing and higher education projects. Nearly all of these projects have particularly complex site conditions often with existing buildings conditions to understand and respond to. Among his many abilities, Danny is a strong communicator. He is highly adept in using different platforms to organize project information, represent design issues and ideas, translating these issues and ideas to clients in affective ways. He takes a measured approach to every consultation and coordination session and is particularly skilled at navigating complex conversations with project team members. Danny is also proficient in the technical detailing, using a combination or research and industry experience to iterate, refine and future-proof different solutions. He is a member of our office BIM Committee and is knowledgeable in different delivery models.

Despite his technical focus, he is impassioned by the narratives that drive early design concepts and solutions. He is committed in his work to ensuring these narratives remain present through the later stages of design, documentation, and construction. Danny’s commitment to design narratives is also present in his work outside the office. He is an accomplished musician and artist. Over the past several years, his focus has been creating new media robotics installations. His works are regularly on display at the ROM, Music Gallery, Arraymusic and Toronto Metropolitan University.
