Sonja Storey-Fleming

M.Arch., OAA

Sonja joined Montgomery Sisam in 2020 with nine years of professional experience working in local and international firms. She has collaborated on several notable projects, including a 5000-seat theatre, state-of-the-art university science building, high-rise student residence and community library.

Sonja demonstrates diligence in all areas of her work. To date, she has been a member of several of our modular supportive housing teams, including 321 Dovercourt Road and 11 Macey Avenue residence in Toronto, and the Beaverton Residence and Support Services Hub in Durham Region. Her responsibilities have included drawing, detailing and coordinating with consultants. Sonja’s acuity allows her to identify problems quickly on these fast-paced projects and develop thoughtful, accurate solutions.

Sonja is interested in how detailing can be used to reconcile design excellence and building performance. She is currently completing her Passive House certification. Outside the office, Sonja has many achievements to her name. She collaborated on several installations, including Come Up to My Room at the Gladstone Hotel and The Stop’s Night Market. She participated in the 2009 US Department of Energy Solar Decathlon. And she has served as a guest critic at both the University of Toronto Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design and Ryerson University School of Interior Design.
