Principal
Enda McDonagh is a Principal at Montgomery Sisam Architects and a core member of the firm’s technical team. With over 25 years of industry experience, he brings deep expertise in building science, sustainable design, and advanced construction technology. His work reflects a commitment to delivering architecture that performs at the highest standards – functionally, technically, and environmentally.
Enda joined Montgomery Sisam in 2010 and was appointed Principal in 2021. In his tenure, he has helped lead many of the firm’s award-winning projects across mental health, formative education, higher education, and supportive housing. His ability to blend high-quality design with advanced building science and innovative construction techniques has positioned him as a key facilitator in creating resilient, responsive architecture. Enda is also a Certified Passive House Consultant.
With a strong background in renovation and adaptive reuse, he excels at navigating complex conditions and technical challenges. His ability to foresee risks, identify strategic opportunities, and maintain design integrity throughout delivery makes him a trusted leader among clients, consultants, and project teams.
As Montgomery Sisam’s in-house sustainability specialist, Enda regularly advises on pathways to meet ambitious environmental targets, including Toronto Green Standards and CaGBC NZC requirements. His technical acuity and passion for energy-efficient design inform every stage of a project, from concept through construction. Beyond his project work, Enda mentors junior staff, sharing his knowledge of building performance and sustainable practices to strengthen the firm’s culture of technical excellence.
