Seaton Long-Term Care celebrates ground-breaking

Construction is now underway for the new Seaton Long-term Care home in Pickering. Montgomery Sisam is excited to be collaborating with Durham Region on this new, 200 bed home. The home includes resident home areas that will accommodate 32 residents each, as well as two 20-bed behavioural specialized units for people with dementia and other more complex needs. We have drawn from our experience in alternate care models such as the Butterfly model, the Green House model and Eden Alternative to develop an innovative design solution for Seaton that privileges the care and support of seniors and wellbeing of staff. The Home also targets ambitious sustainability goals and is intended to meet the Durham Region Corporate Climate Action Plan target for greenhouse gas emission reductions and is targeting Zero Carbon Emissions from Operations.
