Principal Shannon Wiley and Associate Karine Quigley present at this year’s European Healthcare Design Congress, ‘Fault lines and front lines: Strengthening health system resilience.’

On June 12th at the Royal College of Physicians in London, Principal Shannon Wiley and Associate Karine Quigley are presenting their ongoing research project titled ‘Re-imagining the bedroom unit in mental health design’. The bedroom is an important part of the inpatient experience in psychiatric care; a space where individuals are often in their most vulnerable condition. The purpose of this research is to investigate how designers can dismantle current approaches to bedroom design in mental health and reconceive its different elements and attributes to enhance opportunities for hope, identity, and empowerment.
