Principal Ed Applebaum speaks as part of “A Common Thread: Celebrating the Untold Stories of the Tailor Project” at Holy Blossom Temple

A Common Thread celebrates the potential of refugees and their families to overcome adversity and establish safe and rewarding lives in Canada, from past to present, and is focused on shining a light on a vitally important but largely unknown episode in Canada’s history – the Tailor Project.

The Tailor Project was the first opportunity to bring Jewish families out of Europe to Canada after the Holocaust, helping them find a new home and a fresh start here in the garment industry.

As part of a panel of speakers, Ed and his brother Issac will share their personal story of how this project enabled their parents to build a new life in Canada.

The event takes place at Holy Blossom Temple tonight.
