Exciting progress is taking shape at the new Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent (CTC-CK).
Construction is coming along beautifully on this 50,000sq.ft. facility and once complete, the new centre will provide expanded outpatient rehabilitation, respite, recreation, and specialty services for children and youth with physical, developmental, and communication challenges throughout the Chatham-Kent community.
Built for maximum accessibility to the exterior at one-storey, the building takes advantage of opportunities for a varied ceiling plane to create the experience of compression and release throughout its length. Vaulted ceilings in communal spaces bring in natural light from above, to ensure bright and open spaces even towards the center of the building.
Guided by principles of inclusive design, the project creates environments that promote choice, support healing and inclusion, accessibility, well-being, and a strong connection to nature.
We’re proud to see this important project continue to take shape and look forward to the positive impact it will have on local children, youth, and families.
