“Designed to focus views of the shore, the pond and the fields.”
One of two summer houses overlooking the Gulf of St. Lawrence on the north shore of Prince Edward Island. Seaview House 2 is built closer to the shore and is designed to focus views of the shore, the pond and the fields while screening out surrounding cottages. The house consists of two sloped roof pavilions connected by a glazed link, creating a small sheltered garden court in between. One pavilion contains the master bedroom, kitchen and a double height living space. The second accommodates a small office, three bedrooms, and a small shed for outdoor storage. The dining room is in the glazed link with views in four directions. The house is constructed of standard wood framing with an exposed structural deck roof and urethaned plywood partitions. The exterior palette consists of eastern cedar shingles, metal roof and vinyl windows, all accessed locally.
