“An urban fabric that will support a healthier, more sustainable community.”
Born in response to the City of Toronto's need to replace 232 existing rent geared to income housing units at the Don Mount Court, a central Toronto neighbourhood, this urban intervention strategy is built around the concept of regeneration. The site is currently isolated from the neighbourhood's street pattern. Through the introduction of streets and laneways Rivertowne is reintegrated with the urban fabric. A new public square replaces an internalized parkette and forms the focal point of the community that also includes 188 market-housing units.
