Montgomery Sisam has been selected to design the Sheridan College Hazel McCallion Campus expansion as part of the Sheridan Creative Partnership

Sheridan Creative Partnership (a consortium led by Bondfield Construction which includes Montgomery Sisam in joint venture with Moriyama Teshima) has been chosen to design, build and finance Sheridan College's new $67.3 million Hazel McCallion Campus expansion.

The new 220,000 sf facility will become home to Sheridan’s Sustainable Built Environment Department, consisting of Architecture, Interior Design, Interior Decorating and Visual Merchandizing programs. Highlights of the expansion project include space for faculty and administrative offices, 31 new classrooms, 29 new studios, labs and production spaces.

In keeping with Sheridan College’s vision for a Creative Campus the new building will include a central learning and collaborative meeting space known as the Creativity Common, research and leadership centres such as the Institute for Creativity and a gallery space to showcase student creativity and innovation.

The building will also function as a Living Laboratory – a teaching tool to allow students to experience and understand the positive impacts of sustainable design strategies. Elements of the building construction will be exposed for viewing, and signage will lead visitors on an interactive building tour about water efficiency, lighting, indoor environmental quality, structure and energy use.
